Coupe de France: Lyon 4 Gazelec Ajaccio 0

Lyon booked a place in the Coupe de France final with a 4-0 thrashing of third-tier side Gazelec Ajaccio on Tuesday.

Remi Garde s side progressed after an ill-tempered affair at Stade Francois Coty, where Alexandre Lacazette, Lisandro Lopez, Clement Grenier and Bafetimbi Gomis all got on the scoresheet.

Midfielder Anthony Colinet was sent off for the hosts in the 38th minute.

Lyon will meet either Quevilly or Stade Rennes, who do battle on Wednesday, in the final.

Ajaccio almost took a surprise lead through forward Mickael Colloredo, who struck the post on the turn as the hosts enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges.

Jimmy Briand went close to giving Lyon the lead soon after, curling a shot onto the crossbar.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men before half-time, with Colinet red-carded for a dangerous challenge on Lacazette.

A scuffle ensued and the teams went into the break level after Kim Kallstrom could only rattle the bar with a powerful free-kick.

Lyon, the 2008 champions, finally took the lead in the 59th minute when Lacazette poked in after Lucas Rastello could only parry Briand s shot.

Lopez added a second when he got on the end of an Anthony Reveillere cross, before Grenier and Gomis struck late goals.
